VETERANS VIGIL & LUMINARY CEREMONY

On Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 5pm, the 6th Annual Veterans Vigil & Luminary Ceremony will be held to honor all Veterans, especially those so close to home in our Wolcott Community. The event will serve to promote the GREEN LIGHT A VET Advocacy Campaign and encourage individuals to keep a green light lit year round at home and/or the office. The ceremony will also include special presentations by Hayley Falk the Founder of "Because of the Brave," along with the VFW Post 1979 Color Guard, Mayor Thomas Dunn, Senator Rob Sampson and Rep. Gale Mastrofrancesco. We will give thanks to our Servicemen and Servicewomen who continue to fight for our freedoms and to keep us safe. Luminaries will mark this special occasion and may be purchased and personalized to light up the Wolcott Town Green that evening. All names and supporters will be read aloud during the ceremony. Please provide that information via email (patriotsdayct@aol.com) once your luminaries are purchased. We pledge our support and respect for the brave men and women along with their families who have sacrificed so much. This year we will also highlight Center Street for "The Green Mile," asking those residents to switch out a green light for the week or more leading up to Veterans Day.

Proceeds from this year's luminary sales will benefit the Veterans Commission of Wolcott, The Patriots' Day Initiative and other local organizations.

Please note in the event of inclement weather on Thursday, November 10th, the program will be moved to an indoors location TBA.
